Social Injustice Discussion
Should Michelle Bachman be asked to resign as one of the representatives for the State of Minnesota?  How has Michelle Bachman become so arrogant that she feels she can define what is and what is not American?

Michelle Bachman has some rather scathing views of those who she labels liberals.  Yet, liberals make up a large portion of the State of Minnesota.  As an elected official she has made a concentrated effort to not represent part of this population. Instead of doing her job and representing the people she has chosen to call some of those people she represents “anti-American.” Should she be held accountable for this?

This is going to make you very angry….

Zath's Album Cafe - The Who, "Quadrophenia"
"A tough guy, a helpless dancer.
A romantic, is it me for a moment?
A bloody lunatic, I'll even carry your bags.
A beggar, a hypocrite, love reign over me."

Thirty-five years ago this week saw the release of Quadrophenia, The Who's epic rock-opera chronicling a week in the disintegrating life and sanity of Jimmy Cooper, a conflicted young Mod from Shepherds Bush, London. So throw on your army surplus parka, install some extra mirrors on your scooter, and come on down to the Cafe Wellstone as DJ Zathras spins his favorite album.

All comrades are equal, but some are more equal than others and this week is the real life birthday and SL rezday of Marxist-Lennonist Chairman Revpaperboy Boozehound, so the M-L party will put the party back in party politics with a bash of epic proportions at the all new Red Zeppelin with the Chairman himself spinning the tunes. Come on up and enjoy the opiate of the SL masses!  7pm SLT until whenever the opiates run out at the Red Zeppelin.

Social Injustice Discussion
What are the major factors of Classism in today’s America?
Classism continues to be as pervasive if not worse than it was years ago. Classism is the concerted as well as the inadvertent product of a social system which disables a lower economic class, rendering it difficult if not impossible to attain resources or change policies.  Classism creates an unfair advantage for some.  And, while competition is important and crucial within a capitalistic society, if the classism issue is not directly addressed it gets worse, and capitalism ends up a sad little dream of days lost.

Dancing Liberally - Artificial Art Officials
The Guggenheim Museaum opened its doors for the first time forty-nine years ago, this week. Let's celebrate this anniversary with a little dancing and discussion about the sate of the arts after 8 years of Republican rule. The Arts frighten conservatives because they evoke thoughts and emotions from within rather than through the approved channels for indoctrination. That's why they've fought hard to defund the arts and humanities and have been very successful in doing so.

Dress up in something arts related for a chance to win Lindens. As always, Rocky will be spinning the bytes as Dick! Cheney mutters about fancy-pants artists.

The glorious people's cinematic crusade contines to make strides in entertaining the SL proletariat. Every week we attempt to screen a classic film or modern documentary, despite the best efforts of The Man to hide or remove films from the library. This week, barring the intervention of the capitalist running dog censors, we will bring you the cautionary capitalist tale Treasure of the Sierra Madre, starring Humphrey Bogart and directed by John Huston. (No stinkin' badges will be required)
